In Loving Memory of John Jacob Lee
 |
John Jacob Lee, age 19, of Cedar Creek
died in a heartbreaking automobile accident on Sunday,
November 20, 2011.
In his brief lifetime, John Lee left behind a legacy of
caring. After graduating from high school last May, he spent
much of the brutally hot summer helping the animals at the
Bastrop County Animal Shelter before starting at Blinn
College. At the shelter, he would carefully figure out what
each individual animal needed in order to make them
adoptable, thereby saving their lives. Day after day, he
would show up at the shelter with his younger brother, James
Kelsey Lee. If a dog needed to be walked, he did it; if it
needed to run, he took it for a run; if it needed a bath to
feel better, into the tub the pup went. Once, he took a
petrified Chihuahua and held it for an hour until the dog’s
heartbeat slowed down.
Words just cannot express our sorrow at losing our friend
and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this
very difficult time. Rest in peace, sweet Jake…we will miss
you, but we’ll never forget you.
